Meet the Team
Dr. Marius Vasilescu
Veterinarian, Medical Director
Dr. Marius Vasilescu (Dr. V) earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Master’s degree, and Ph.D. in his home country of Romania. He later moved to Canada, where he completed a surgical internship at Canada West Veterinary Specialists and continued to gain extensive experience working in emergency hospitals and general practices.
Starting with 2020, Dr. V has served as Senior Medical Director and Chief Medical Advisor for the RAPS (Regional Animal Protection Society) Animal Hospital, BC, and as the Medical Consultant for RAPS’ successful veterinary reality television show “Pets & Pickers” (playing in Canada, USA and United Kingdom).Before moving to Utah, Dr V has shared several years providing pet care and ongoing education and development of medical teams on both the sunny coast of Florida and the beautiful city of Vancouver.
In addition to their gerbils and Guinea Pigs, Dr V & family will shortly welcome a larger furry daughter – pictures to be shared soon. While not hiking or travelling with his family, Dr. V enjoys skiing, squash and Argentine Tango. Fun fact: he always reads the menus backwards, and that for a very sweet reason.
Dr. Sydney Hewitt
Veterinarian
Dr. Sydney Hewitt is excited to return to her roots in Utah. A passionate animal advocate from a young age, Dr. Hewitt fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian by earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University.
She brings a compassionate, down-to-earth approach to veterinary care and loves building connections with both pets and their people. Her professional interests are complemented by a love for the outdoors—when she’s not at the clinic, you’ll likely find her hiking, camping, fishing, or enjoying time with family and friends. She’s also a movie buff, sports enthusiast, and self-proclaimed Disney nerd.
Dr. Hewitt is thrilled to serve the community she calls home and looks forward to helping your pets live happy, healthy lives.
Raynee
Staff
Raynee has lived in Utah her entire life and spent much of her younger years in the Uinta Basin, where she developed her love for agriculture and animals. She grew up surrounded by animals and always knew she wanted a career dedicated to helping them live happy, healthy lives. Veterinary medicine has given her the opportunity to do exactly that while continuing to learn and grow every day.
Her world revolves around her three dogs: Cash, her Boxer, and Willie and Waylon, her Pomeranian-Poodle mixes. Outside of work, Raynee enjoys horseback riding, road trips, camping, and attending concerts. She is excited to continue expanding her knowledge in veterinary medicine while caring for every pet as if they were her own.
Kirsten
Hospital Director
Kirsten is originally from Ohio and relocated to Utah in 2018. She earned her associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology from Kent State University and brings more than 13 years of experience as a licensed veterinary technician. She has a special passion for ophthalmology and enjoys helping pets improve their quality of life through specialized eye care.
Kirsten shares her home with her husband, Tyler, along with their two dogs, Zero and Scarlett, and two cats, Oreo and Felix. Outside of work, she enjoys camping, paddle boarding, and spending time in the mountains.
Kristina
Staff
Kristina is a veterinary technician who was born and raised in Sandy, Utah, and proudly embraces her Lithuanian roots. She has always had a deep love for animals and feels grateful to work in a field where she can help them live healthier and happier lives. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is being hands-on with patients and making a positive impact in their care every day.
At home, Kristina’s world revolves around her pets, including her dog Shadow, cats Cheeto and Cheese, and her horse Kai. She is currently studying zoology to expand her knowledge of animal species and strengthen her skills in veterinary medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys horseback riding, playing the drums, listening to music, cheering on the Utah Mammoth, and spending time outdoors.
Brooklynn
Staff
Brooklynn is originally from Lincoln City, a small town on the Oregon Coast. She is currently attending school to become a Veterinary Technician and plans to continue her education toward earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Her passion for veterinary medicine began at a young age and continues to grow through hands-on experience and learning.
She has two dogs back home in Oregon, Zion, a Cane Corso, and Mia, an American Pit Bull Terrier. In her free time, Brooklynn enjoys staying active through hiking, working out, volleyball, and softball.
Isla
Staff
Isla is from Riverton, Utah, and is currently attending Salt Lake Community College to earn her associate’s degree in Biology with plans to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine. Her previous experience as a Client Service Representative at an animal hospital helped strengthen her passion for animal care and inspired her to continue working toward a future in the veterinary field.
She has a Quarter Horse named Dazzy and two Basenji/Shiba Inu mixes named River and Whiskey. Outside of work and school, Isla enjoys horseback riding, preparing for horse shows, sewing, and crafting projects.
Shelbi
Staff
Shelbi was born and raised in West Jordan, Utah, and has always had a strong passion for animals. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal, Dairy, and Veterinary Sciences from Utah State University before attending Mountain Edge Veterinary Technology. Over the years, she has worked in both general practice and emergency medicine and enjoys helping pets and their families in any way she can. She also has a special interest in large animal medicine, reproduction, and nutrition.
Her home is full of pets, including two dogs, two cats, and a bird: Livia the Indian Ringneck Parrot, Freya the Maine Coon, Rowdy the Manx cat, Saidee the Brittany Spaniel, and Charlotte “Lottie,” her Australian Shepherd puppy. Outside of work, Shelbi enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors with her dogs, and curling up with a good book.
Lexi
Staff
Lexi brings more than 25 years of experience as a veterinary technician specializing in critical care and emergency medicine. She is passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care while honoring the strong bond between pets and their families. Friends and family often turn to her first for advice about their beloved pets because of her extensive knowledge and dedication to animal care.
Outside of work, Lexi enjoys backpacking, hiking, spending time outdoors, attending live music events, and making memories with her family and fur babies.

Kaely
Staff
Kaely is originally from Los Angeles and was raised in Venezuela and Panama. With a background in biology, customer service, and pet store management, including grooming and daycare, she enjoys helping both people and animals feel cared for and supported.
At home, Kaely has a tuxedo cat named Spinetta and a German Shepherd mix named Toph. Outside of work, she enjoys baking, camping, doing nails, and spending time at the lake.
